LE DRUGSTORE BY TOM DIXON

THE ICONIC DESIGNER’S RESEARCH STUDIO UNVEILS A SUPERB NEW PARIS BRASSERIE: Tom Dixon has recently redesigned the brasserie at Publicis Drugstore, situated at the very top of the Champs-Élysées in Paris. The venue has been one of the revolutionary hotspots of the “city of love” for over sixty years, and is now part of the Tom Dixon Design Research Studio’s portfolio. The new restaurant and bar has been renamed Le Drugstore, and is located on the ground floor of the famed shopping and entertainment centre at 133 Avenue des Champs-Élysées. New changes happen every year – not just with new platforms and services coming up or existing platforms dying down (rest in peace, Vine!), but also with the user population shifting from one segment to another on the social spectrum. Interior design brands may have a hard time keeping up with these changes and the incoming plethora of new trends in 2017, but keeping an eye out on the latest statistics will help any brand stay ahead in the game. According to Sprout Social, Statista has recorded some interesting shifts in social media for 2017. We combed through...

COSHAMIE’S DESIGN PICK: VIOSKI

WHERE MID-CENTURY & CONTEMPORARY DESIGN MEET IN PERFECT UNISON: Comfort and style have never been closer together than in Vioski’s simple but elegant designs. Jeff Vioski draws his roots from architecture, which is why his creations are so considerately constructed, and yet so fluid in form and function. [caption id="attachment_4971" align="aligncenter" width="500"] Chicago Sofa (Image Courtesy: Vioski)[/caption] Bringing strength through proportion and the kind of timeless beauty that is very difficult to attain in this day and age, the California-based design brand wears its creations as a badge of honour. The mid-century charm is there – simplicity, functionality and a touch of minimalism exude from each object bearing the Vioski signature. However, the sleek lines and modern allure speak for themselves. [caption id="attachment_4979" align="aligncenter"...

COMBINING SOFT FORMS WITH TREASURES OF THE EARTH: After catching the spotlight at last year’s Maison & Objet Americas as a Rising Talent, Samuel Amoia’s designs continue to surprise and inspire with a blend of soft lines and rough, crushed minerals in the form of contemporary furnishings that speak up and demand attention.
