THE CELEBRATED BRITISH DESIGNER WILL PRESENT NEW HOME COLLECTIONS AT MAISON & OBJET 2017:
With a new year opening itself up to all kinds of creative opportunities, Tom Dixon Studio is now ready to explore the bathroom and kitchen with a focus on functional storage, cleansing rituals, lotions and waterproof lighting.
“We have been working on a multitude of hotel bathrooms, spas, apartments and restaurants and this revealed a newfound passion for bathrooms and kitchens,” says Tom Dixon. “After working on some of the harder, tougher components of lighting and storage, it all felt a bit incomplete without looking at the softer elements… So, it seemed only natural to start thinking of the lotions and potions of this most cleansing of spaces”.
This latest launch includes a premium line of washing up liquids, hand washes, balms and gift sets inspired by the studio’s signature scents: London, Royalty and Orientalist, alongside multifunctional marble storage for the bathroom or kitchen counter, and copper-plated lights, all designed for wet environments.
Tom Dixon Studio will introduce these new products during January’s edition of Maison & Objet in Paris.
The London collection is fabulously peculiar – the liquid soap contains black clay and charcoal to give it the deep black colour and detoxifying qualities. There’s also a subtle mix of black pepper, oud wood and patchouli that captures the smell of smoky red brick and London parks. The hand balm is enriched with rosehip oil, carrot oil and honey, and is rich in antioxidants and deeply moisturising and soothing, not to mention paraben-free.
The Royalty collection is another bundle of stylish pampering surprises! Enhanced with the essences of black tea and bergamot, the line is rich in antioxidants and soothes and restores damaged skin. Notes of lemon, Earl Grey tea and cedar wood capture the smell of tea time with scones and strawberry jam.
The Orientalist collection is fortified with rosehip oil, turmeric, ginger and fennel, and is equally rich in purifying antioxidants. Notes of violet leaves, rose, cinnamon and musk perfume the skin with a faint exotic floral fragrance reminiscent of an Indian wedding or a visit to a far eastern flower market.
The LID collection features simple and multifunctional boxes and lids in white marble, blue glass and copper-plated stainless steel that make a playful construction set for any bathroom shelf. They’re all able to interchange, stack and nest like a modernist sculpture.
The SPOT lamps comprise of copper-plated stainless steel body and a massively thick glass lens, with integrated LED bulbs. Designed for wet environments, the lamps are highly functional and unexpectedly stylish.
